Poetry Slam Here On the Group Renga Board and Tools for Writing Good Poetry

Welcome to the Poetry Slam Renga Board of The Actor's Checklist which is linked from our "The Poet, Spoken Word, Performance Poetry, Literary Agent, Poetry Spaces, Poetry Slam Here Link" page. Poetry Slams, simply put, are creative yet competitve events presided over by judges choosen from the audience, to see who has the best stuff. Renga -- the parent of haiku -- is a Japanese imagistic form that originated as a party game in which groups of poets contributed to a single poem.

Here are some tips for posting to the Renga Group Board:

Our board can accomodate up to five participants at this time. We have included text links to writing tools to help you craft better poetry. There is a pull down menu which will allow you to select "text" to write your poems. Most of the tools on this menu are for drawing and art -- and it's fine if you feel like using them too. There is a chat facility in the same space which might be best used to coordinate with other scribes if there is true group collaboration going on. And there is a message board which should prove handy to post completed poems, as well as leave notices to other poets concerning scheduled meetings and other collaborative matters. The possibilities are endless! Have fun!!
